Process Control Engineer’s contribute to the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of the refinery by way of the hardware and application programming of the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and safety Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). The Process Control engineer plays a significant role supporting capital and expense project work on their assigned asset. Key interfaces include Operations, Instrument- Analyzer- and Electrical (technicians and engineering), Projects & Turnaround and Process Engineering.

In this role You will:
Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing regulatory controls, HMI, logic programs, alarm management database, DCS and Safety PLC’s.
Shared responsibility for all aspects of the process computing system including system troubleshooting & maintenance, application development, commissioning, interface maintenance & development, system configuration, digital security, updates, migration, long-term planning, training, and documentation.
Support unit turnarounds and projects for assigned assets.
Maintain the off-line operator training simulator and insure consistency with the on-line system. Add / subtract functionality through minor model modifications.
Understand company HSE practices, policies, & procedures and participate in refinery hazard analysis and root cause failure analysis.
We have the following requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as process control, instrumentation, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with DCS and Safety systems.
Ability to work as a team player, comply with standards, follow management of change policies, enhance process digital security, and fully document projects and activities.
Demonstrated communication skills and ability to network and influence across organisational boundaries.
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team.
Prefer experience to include Windows-based systems, virtual machines and networks with its associated switches, routers and firewalls.
Dutch and English language skills verbally and in writing
