Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Process Control Engineer for our client, a leading organization in the chemical manufacturing sector. This position plays a key role in optimizing plant performance, supporting both control systems and process safety initiatives, and interacting with multiple disciplines across a large-scale operation.

Process Control Engineer Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new process control systems.
  • Configure and optimize Distributed Control System (DCS) control strategies.
  • Perform loop tuning and advanced regulatory control improvements.
  • Analyze operational data to troubleshoot disturbances and recommend process enhancements.
  • Lead alarm rationalization and improve alarm strategies.
  • Administer and maintain DCS and Safety Instrumented System (SIS) software and hardware.
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party systems into the DCS environment.
  • Program and test SIS control strategies and interlock functionalities.
  • Develop user-friendly operator displays to improve control and efficiency.
  • Provide 24/7 on-demand support for system and process troubleshooting.
  • Support environmental and regulatory reporting with accurate system data.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSE teams on continuous improvement and project efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of plant experience in Process Control Engineering.
  • Proficient in process control equipment and strategies.
  • Strong computer, data analysis, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with DeltaV and DeltaV SIS or Honeywell Experion PKS preferred.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and instrument wiring is a plus.
