POSITION SUMMARY

Will serve as a laboratory based member of the Technical Services team providing chemistry and process related technical support to OSP, Technology Transfers, changeover cleaning and solvent recovery sections.

EDUCATION

Minimum degree in Chemistry or relevant discipline

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 0-3 years experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working as an individual and effective team player
    Core Competencies: teamwork, organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, communication skills both in oral and technical report writing.
    Work Location Assignment: On Premise

Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct laboratory scale experiments and analysis with supervision to support daily plant operation issues, proposed process modifications, new raw material qualification, evaluation of processes to minimize waste (reuse, etc), evaluation of new process technologies
  • Collaborate and work with multi-discipline functions such as process engineers, quality, regulatory, compliance, etc in troubleshooting all manufacturing problems and upsets.
  • Support technology transfers activities from drafting the standard laboratory procedures (SLP) to execution of laboratory experiments to support process validation.
  • Review and approve process-related documents
  • Maintain good laboratory records as per good document and laboratory practice on the the experiments conducted.
  • Work with other Process Scientists and Engineers to anticipate and eliminate any process chemistry related issues.
  • Work with Quality Operations to develop the necessary data and documentation in support of production changes or abnormal process operations to assure that the products meet all Pfizer and regulatory quality standards.
  • Collaborate with process centric team (PCT) to support implementation of continuous improvements using Lean Sigma tools.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies and perform analytical analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Flexible work schedules to accommodate to unforeseen work requirements.
  • Demonstrate accountability for the technical deliverables and milestones accordingly to agreed timelines.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and a “can-do” attitude.
  • Adherence to Pfizer safety rules and procedures.
  • Participate in Pfizer Global Best Practice Teams as necessary.
  • Participate in Global product development teams as necessary.
