The opportunity….
Do you thrive in a collaborative environment and are you looking for a role where you can lead a team and have full ownership of process chemistry projects? If so, this role could be your next big step.
As a Process Development Team Lead, you’ll have the opportunity to take the lead of our efforts to bridge the gap between material development and manufacturing. Your role will be crucial in translating chemical processes from the lab to full-scale production.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Lead the process development function ensuring timely delivery of information pertinent to our manufacturing processes.
  • Create and implement a process development plan that aligns to the overall company objectives.
  • Line management of process development team members fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Design and perform or oversee experiments to enhance understanding of reaction chemistry in order to optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Liaise with our operations team and third-party manufacturers to ensure integration of process development chemistry insights, optimising production efficiency and maintaining process control.
  • This role will include occasional travel to 3rd party manufacturing facilities to support production scale up.
  • Research and test new synthetic routes to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work closely with analytical scientists to ensure product quality and reproducibility and to investigate reaction monitoring processes where applicable
  • Embed process chemistry considerations in new material development projects.
  • Design and conduct experiments to assess the impact of process parameters on product quality and establish the tolerances of these parameters.
  • Work with process engineers to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Support manufacturing operations by implementing new processes and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines, writing necessary documentation like COSHH forms and risk assessments
  • Share knowledge and expertise with the team, contributing to upskilling efforts.
