Description Job Overview As an industry leader serving the food and dairy industries, APT is seeking a Process Engineer to support our growing and dynamic business. In this position, you will work closely with the customer to provide solutions to accomplish their project goals. You will be involved in the design, estimating, quoting, installation and commissioning of processes and equipment to be installed at customer facilities. What You’ll Do · Partner with Sr. Engineers in establishing relationships with customer to better understand their engineering needs and lead the project to completion · Establish strong rapport and relationships with customers · Develop and manage the project schedule · Work with the customer to develop the project scope & deliverables · Estimate project costs and develop the proposal for the customer · Design processes for the customer’s needs, ideally increasing production rate, volumes, efficiency, etc. per project plan · Work with vendors & suppliers to specify components required · Collaborate with the mechanical design team for fabricating new equipment · Manage the installation of new processes from scheduling resources to ensuring the installation is proceeding as planned · Assist with start-up and commissioning of new processes and equipment · Understanding fundamental fluid mechanics as it pertains to liquid piping and storage systems · Functional mathematical knowledge necessary to develop simple models in Excel for understanding material balances and time/throughput/capacity analysis Qualifications Required: · Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience · Minimum 3 years of relevant experience; experience in metal fabrication/plumbing/pipefitting is preferred · Knowledge of heat and mass transfer relative to basic liquid processing · Strong communication skills, including the ability to sell and negotiate · Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent design system; experience in 3-D modeling is a plus · Proficient with Microsoft Office products · Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills · Travel Requirement: 30% Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $75,000 - $110,000 The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position.
