Description

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Process Engineer must hold a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a carbon black manufacturing plant.
  • Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in applying scientific methods; experienced with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical and operational information effectively.
Responsibilities
  • The Process Engineer will assist the Production Superintendent in achieving corporate and plant objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of Production Supervisors, Process Control Supervisors, and Operators to optimize production output, product quality, safety, housekeeping, and cost efficiency within environmental compliance requirements.
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures that support effective production operations.
  • Define and monitor reactor and wet process operating parameters.
  • The Process Engineer will plan and schedule routine and preventive maintenance for production equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of unit equipment and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing grade runs and operational performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams and contractors to ensure quality and efficiency of equipment repairs.
  • The Process Engineer will train staff in Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and production best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze production processes to improve efficiency and resolve operational issues.
  • Prepare and deliver reports to plant management on production volumes, quality metrics, operational summaries, equipment downtime, staffing concerns, and environmental compliance.
  • The Process Engineer will provide chemical engineering expertise for process design, optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate process capability data and implement corrective and preventive measures to reduce quality costs and drive performance improvement.
