ATI is seeking to hire a Process Engineer to support our Specialty Rolled Products business unit. This role will be based at our Plate Operations facility in Washington, PA.
In this position you will be responsible for process development and improvement, and quality cost control. Daily interaction with production workers, operations supervision, and other technical personnel throughout the company is expected. This position is in our technical band and reports directly to the Manager, Process Engineering.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for process development and improvement
  • Resolving quality-related issues and troubleshooting process related problems.
  • Responsible for quality cost control
  • Off standard product dispositions and resolving quality-related issues
  • Interaction with production workers on a daily basis on quality-related issues
  • Yield and product quality improvement projects
  • Ensure product meets customer specification
  • Support customer new product qualification
  • Interface with customers to resolve complaints and rejections

Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • STEM degrees and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of the three majors above
  • Experience with process analysis, conducting controlled experiments and the ability to summarize data is also a requirement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience with processing of titanium, steel or nickel alloys is strongly desired
