A leading manufacturer with a strong footprint in the electronics industry is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join its high-performing production team at their Cramlington facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to take ownership of manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute directly to the site’s operational excellence.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven background in electronics manufacturing, ideally within a high-mix, high-volume environment
  • In-depth knowledge of SMT processes (Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, ICT) and Wave Soldering operations
  • Familiarity with mechanical/electrical systems and preventative maintenance practices
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement frameworks
  • Ability to interpret technical data and drive performance using analytical tools
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production software tools
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all manufacturing processes within the electronics production remit. This includes maintaining optimal performance of equipment, implementing improvements across the shop floor, and ensuring the site operates at a high standard aligned with Lean and Industry 4.0 principles.
Please Note - Travel to Wembley will be required initially.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Leading and optimising Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Wave Soldering processes—including Screen Printing, Pick and Place, Reflow, AOI, ICT, and conveyor systems.
  • Managing the maintenance, upkeep, and performance monitoring of complex manufacturing equipment.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement and cost-reduction initiatives through process analysis, redesign, and capital investments.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet production KPIs and maintain a safe, clean, and high-performing environment.
  • Supporting production teams with technical guidance, training, and knowledge sharing.
