Description:

DESCRIPTION

Many of the world’s top engineers and scientists come together in our Water business because they view a community’s interaction with water a bit differently—as a single holistic system, rather than unconnected networks divided by jurisdictional boundaries. Working throughout the hydrologic cycle, we are delivering sustainable solutions to make sure water is where it should be and available when needed. Our experts guide our work with scientific rigor, an innovative spirit, and a vision for growth. Every day, we help communities improve, reuse, and protect this precious resource for future generations. By 2025 we’re hiring 2,000 people (like you) to join our team. Grow with us, H2O+U.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Stantec is seeking a water and wastewater focused process engineer in training or process engineering technologist to join our team within the Southwestern Ontario area. You will be based in the Waterloo office support projects throughout southwestern Ontario and work with brilliant specialists from across our North American operations.
Within this entry position, you can leverage the process engineering and water design knowledge gained through your education and early career. Under the guidance of our senior engineering staff, you will work on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects in a supporting capacity. At a high level your tasks may include the development of engineering and financial calculations, participating in the design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, technical reports, providing proposal support, and independent field work. The projects that may be assigned are broad, varied, and diverse in scope, and often require seamlessly working with a diverse project team.
You’re a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, who can quickly get up to speed and grow into the role. It is expected that you are working toward your professional designation (C.E.T or P.Eng). Many of the challenges we tackle for our clients are complex and multi-faceted, requiring superb analytical skills often gained through rigorous academic study. Although not a requirement, advanced degrees in engineering and business administration are highly desired.

  • Holds a valid Class G drivers’ license

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Previous Coop/ internship experience considered an asset.
  • A college level diploma in Civil Technology or related discipline from an CTAB accredited program with a minimum 5 years of direct experience will also be considered.
  • Currently working toward your professional designation (P. Eng for Engineer applications and C.E.T for Technologist applicants).
