Description:
IFAB Engineering Partners Ltd. is seeking ambitious Process Engineers to grow with our process engineering group. Work is performed in collaboration with a full complement of designers and engineers from a variety of disciplines, with a primary emphasis on efficient process design. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in chemical, industrial, or process engineering and has experience with process flow diagrams, P&IDS and equipment layout & specifications. Experience in the food and beverage industry would be seen as an asset.

Position Requirements:
- Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering from a recognized college, university or training institution;
- 3-5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in a related field or environment. Experience working for professional services, process engineering, and food and beverage firms is a plus.
- Fundamental understanding of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layout and specifications, and capital project estimates
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitary design and knowledge of food and beverage industry standards, practices, and regulations preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven client interaction and experience
- Intellectual curiosity and a positive, can-do, team-oriented attitude
- Strong problem solving, organizing, and time management skill
Responsibilities:
- Lead process design efforts for new and/or modified food and beverage production facilities across Canada;
- Work closely with designers, fellow engineers, technical specialists, and project managers to design optimized systems, structures, and components;
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of equipment and process in order to minimize downtime, turnaround time, and waste reduction while maintaining an excellent standard of quality;
- Developing process design basis and select unit operations;
- Preparing process flow and piping and instrumentation diagrams;
- Preparing mass and energy balances;
- Sizing and specification of process and process utility equipment;
- Equipment procurement and bid evaluation
- Assisting project management with the development of project scope, budget and schedule for all process related work;
- Helping to coordinate the schedules and work of contractors for process equipment installation;
- Overseeing process and utility equipment installations;
- Support project manager with design work and coordination of approvals as required for full project success.
