Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and capable Process Engineer to support a Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) project for a client based in Rome, Italy. As part of the Owner’s Engineering team, you will assist in the development and review of key process engineering deliverables during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) or Basic Engineering phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of FEED or Basic Engineering Design for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) units.
  • Review contractor deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and heat and material balances.
  • Assist in performing process simulations and validating process design data using tools like Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews to ensure proper integration with piping, mechanical, instrumentation, and safety disciplines.
  • Contribute to the preparation of process datasheets and process design calculations.
  • Ensure alignment with industry codes, standards, and licensor requirements.
  • Support the resolution of technical queries and help ensure that process engineering milestones are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry, preferably involving FEED or Basic Engineering for HDS units.
  • Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
  • Good understanding of process safety principles, control philosophies, and equipment sizing fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian or French is a plus.
