Description
Description At GasTech Engineering LLC, our Process Engineer Internship is designed to immerse students in the real-world engineering behind gas processing equipment and gas plant operations. Interns gain hands-on experience working directly within our Process Engineering team, contributing to active projects and learning how technical decisions shape the performance, safety, and efficiency of gas processing systems. GasTech specializes in the design and fabrication of gas processing equipment—including separation, treating, dehydration, and modular processing units—used in gas plants across the industry. As part of this environment, interns get a firsthand look at how process engineering drives each stage of equipment design and plant integration. Requirements Every Process Engineering intern is assigned a dedicated project, giving them ownership and responsibility from day one. Interns work closely with experienced Process Engineers who guide them through the technical, analytical, and practical aspects of the job. Interns will gain experience in: Developing process calculations such as heat and material balances Understanding and producing process flow diagrams (PFDs) Contributing to P&ID development and learning how equipment interfaces with plant systems Sizing and selecting equipment, including separators, heat exchangers, pumps, and vessels Learning simulation tools and how they support engineering decisions Participating in design reviews with engineering, drafting, and fabrication teams The focus is on providing meaningful work—not observation—so interns see the impact of their contributions throughout the project lifecycle. Learning the Gas Processing Industry Throughout the internship, students gain a complete picture of how gas plants operate and how engineered equipment supports those operations. This includes exposure to: Gas separation and treating fundamentals Heat transfer and fluid flow principles Dehydration, stabilization, and other core gas processing steps Equipment design considerations for performance and safety How process engineering integrates with mechanical design, fabrication, and operations Interns also see how GasTech’s modular equipment fits into larger plant systems, helping them understand the full process chain from gas inlet to product output. Skill Development and Professional Growth The Process Engineering internship prepares students for future engineering roles by building: Strong analytical and calculation skills Confidence in interpreting engineering documents Experience collaborating across disciplines An understanding of how real-world constraints shape engineering decisions Professional communication and presentation skills By the end of the program, interns walk away with practical knowledge, industry exposure, and tangible project experience that supports their academic career and future job opportunities. Investing in Future Process Engineers GasTech Engineering LLC is dedicated to developing the next generation of engineering talent. Our Process Engineer Internship offers a unique opportunity for students to apply their education in a real gas processing environment, contribute to actual projects, and learn from seasoned engineers who are committed to their growth. We believe in giving interns the space to learn, the support to grow, and the responsibility to contribute—because the future of our industry depends on engineers who are prepared, knowledgeable, and inspired.
Responsibilities
Interns will be immersed in real-world engineering for gas processing equipment, contributing to active projects by developing process calculations, creating PFDs, and assisting with P&ID development. They will also gain experience in sizing and selecting equipment like separators, heat exchangers, pumps, and vessels.
