Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for new product launches and improving current production processes. To provide engineering support to manufacturing and all support groups. To identify opportunities for continuous improvement and identify and implement new production processes and methods to improve product quality, production efficiency and cost. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Degree in IE, ME, EE, or comparable field of study
· Experience in manufacturing environment
· Blueprint reading applicable to process designs.
· Experience with project management and planning
· Excellent attention to detail and time management
· Ability to provide and present data driven feedback.
· Ability to manage and lead continuous improvement projects.
· Proficient computer skills in related software.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENT:

· Ability to interface and communicate with customers and production supervisors and employees to research and solve problems.
· Proven project management skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
· Demonstrated analytical ability.
· Competence in setting-up and working with ERP system.
· Knowledge of 5S principals and experience in implementation of methodologies
· Familiarity with drafting software in CADKEY, Key Creator, and Solid Works
· Knowledge of material types, composite part manufacturing, and industrial processes. Blueprint reading and comprehension a must, and experience with geometric tolerance.
· Must apply knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with General manager, machine operators and machinists and customer representatives.
· Confer with vendors to determine product specification of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specification and quality standards.
· Communicate with customer to resolve engineering issues related to manufacturing processes, drawings, and specifications.
· Work collaboratively with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, product design tooling, production schedules, and other consideration to facilitate production processes.
· Evaluate manufacturing process flow of short run and long run orders, including routing of jobs through production cells, outside processes, and in-process and final inspection.

Responsibilities

· Analyze current methods of production to understand and define data collection for tracking and trending.
· Standardize best practices, implementing LEAN/5-S/TPS/VSM strategies where applicable.
· Utilize AutoCAD software
· Launch new products by assisting with Bom development
· Develop new, and implement existing, improvements to processes with measurable results in Quality, Efficiency, Safety and Cost.
· Work with cross-functional groups for quality, maintenance, and production goals.
· Develop/Update SOP’s/Work instructions for current/future projects/programs.
· Provide technical support and training for applicable manufacturing processes.
· Utilize 8-D/Ishikawa/Fishbone methods for root cause analysis, error-proofing, and corrective implementation.
· Coordination and implementation of capital projects for maintenance and growth initiatives.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
· Champion facility apprenticeship program for long-term machinist success.
· Develop leadership and operational skill set for future role mobility.
· Develop manufacturing processes and sequence of production operations from blueprints, quality documents, specifications and purchase orders.
· Create processing routings in the ERP system, convert prints to KKSP standard and upload all supporting technical documents.
· Review existing process routers for accuracy.
· Responsible for all part revision changes.
· Assist in design solutions, as needed, both cutting tools and work holding.
· Support manufacturing and CNC programming needs of the New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and improve productivity actions.
· Coordinate with operations to ensure that fall technological documentation, tooling and programming is ready when schedule requires start of manufacturing.
