Rolls-Royce are seeking to to fill 6 positions within the teams that make up the Overhaul & Maintenance Methods (OMM) skill group as part of the UK&I Defence Mature Programmes portfolio. You will define, validate, and support the implementation of maintenance policies and procedures at product level. This includes build and strip method and identify associated special to type tooling. There are three types of role on offer, each supporting the creation, sustainment and development of our maintenance methods for our UK Defence Customers: Technical Documentation, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), Ground Support Equipment – Tooling.
Engineers in this team are primarily responsible for defining the safe, reliable, and cost-effective method of maintenance and overhaul of our products. They do this by ensuring that the support solutions defined (including technical instructions and associated tooling) are stable, repeatable, and seamlessly integrate with the product maintenance and overhaul network, including validation oversight.
They provide technical support in ensuring processes are adhered to and feasible alternatives are approved and rolled out accordingly. They also influence the design of the engine to allow it to be well supported. This is a highly challenging, varied, and interesting role with a strong customer and engineering focus.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Develop and validate maintenance concepts, methods, and tools to enhance assembly maintainability and support Engine MRO operations. Provide technical support to ensure efficient, rate-ready, and production-friendly maintenance methods.
  • Manage the design and manufacturing of Ground Support Equipment within the supply chain, ensuring efficient processes and improved product delivery.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in Engine MRO while continuously improving processes and tools to develop and support Engine MRO.
  • Ensure technical compliance with regulatory, contractual, and customer requirements, and develop and disseminate maintenance policies through technical publications for operators.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Manufacturing Engineering, MRO Bases, Service Operations, and Design teams, to improve technical solutions, support Part 145 MRO operations, and set up new overhaul facilities and capabilities.
  • Lead and support Product Safety through the development of high-quality methods, tooling and facility sustainment.
