JOB SUMMARY

As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing innovative solutions that improve efficiency, drive growth, and enhance product quality. This position blends engineering, research, and business strategy, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role; bakery process knowledge an asset.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Word, and Excel.
  • P.Eng designation considered an asset.
  • Self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results.
  • Team-oriented with strong client interaction skills.
    The indicated pay range for this position is a good-faith estimate based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Additionally, it is emphasized that the pay band mentioned herein is the one established by the client company. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills, experience and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work. Most candidates will start at the bottom half of the pay range, with the upper end reserved for candidates with extensive experience and skills and who live in geographic markets commanding a higher starting pay. Responsibilities
  • Generate ideas, identify opportunities for innovation, and develop concepts into process flow diagrams that meet product and customer specifications.
  • Study market trends, emerging technologies, and existing solutions to inform innovation efforts.
  • Design and test prototypes, iterating to refine solutions and lead process commercialization from pilot to full production scale.
  • Work closely with Operations, R&D, Commercial, Finance, Food Safety & Quality, and other functions to align innovation with business needs.
  • Design and implement new technologies, particularly in snacks (bar lines) and foodservice bakery (muffins, pastries, croissants).
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimize throughput on existing production lines.
  • Manage scope, timelines, and resources to deliver innovation projects on time and within budget.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and trends to improve processes and product offerings.
