Description IMC Metals America is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to be part of a growing organization in Shelby, NC. Summary: This position will report directly to the Engineering Manager and support the day-to-day activities in both maintenance and operations. IMC is part of the PMR Group of companies who are industry leaders in the recycling and manufacturing of copper. Our products are used in a variety of industries from automotive electronic vehicle components to numerous copper plating applications. Our unique approach of urban mining allows us to positively impact our environment while re-utilizing this critical mineral. IMC supports the opportunity for growth and advancement within our organization Requirements Essential Duties: • Strong ability to work independently and under supervision while leading a safety conscious environment. • Establish an organizational process for executing work in the most cost-effective way. • Assist with troubleshooting of operational issues. • Provides guidance and support to operational management by identifying process improvement opportunities while helping manage an annual and progressive plan. • Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facility, making recommendations, and working with the operational management to integrate solutions. • Initiate, write, gain approval, implement and close reliability / process improvement projects to meet plant goals. • Work directly with Maintenance and Process Specialists to develop root cause failure analysis of operating and reliability problems while developing and implementing corrective actions. • Assist with training and development of operators. • Provide engineering assistance to the maintenance staff and management. • Provide engineering drawings and direction for the performance of day-to-day maintenance activities as required. • Implement spare parts strategies and assist maintenance in ensuring parts are available for planned outages and breakdowns. • Support inventory management programs and perform quality assurance assessments. • Identify and implement continuous improvement action items. • Initiate projects to positively impact asset performance and track, implement and close action items. • Work effectively across all levels of the organization to meet critical deadlines. • Analyze costs, downtime, and interruption data to build and maintain charts and graphs to improve the plants’ availability and cost effectiveness. Education & Experience • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree of Mechanical Engineering Technology - GPA: Minimum 3.0 • Desired: Bachelor’s Degree of Mechanical Engineering - GPA: Minimum 3.0 • Desired: Foundry experience • Experience with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools, preferably SolidWorks. • Exceptional people skills and ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. • Creativity, analytical skills, and technical writing skills Compensation We offer a competitive salary with an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan is currently a 50% match up to 6%, vacation, paid holidays, life insurance, and more.
