QUALIFICATIONS

  • S. Degree Engineering, Chemistry, or similar technical field
  • 2 - 5 years of technical experience in the polymer processing industry
  • Experience in polymer compounding, mixing, extrusion, coating, or calendaring preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Analysis and 5S are a plus
  • Excellent technical writing & oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with Sales, Production, Suppliers and Customers

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional travel within U.S., with potential international travel as necessary

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment for capabilities of processing to specification and operator conformance to processing specifications for possible modifications that would improve quality and
  • Statistically analyze critical products factors as they relate to product performance against customer
  • Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on supplier related issues that prevent the manufacturing process from producing expected results/materials.
  • Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on corrective actions needed to overcome processing problems
  • Support sales through written reports, technical data, laboratory samples and technical assistance through direct customer
  • Participate in key customer visits with sales engineers and account managers
  • Research and develop new recipes, compounds, fabrics, methods etc.
  • Responsible for Material Review Board sign-off authority
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
