Description American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are hiring a Process Engineer Intern for to work while attending school. We are looking for Process Engineer Intern. This person will be eager to learn and grow within the organization and work onsite at our plant in Simpsonville, SC. The Process Engineer will work alongside experienced process technicians to learn and develop the skills needed to safely and efficiently set-up, operate and troubleshoot injection molds, injection molding presses, and injection molding processes. Duties include any auxiliary functions needed to keep the area running safely and efficiently including running production. Responsibilities: Mix, blend, purge, and load raw material into presses for production runs Set-up, clean, and prepare molds for upcoming production runs Set molds into presses and connect water and/or electrical hook-ups to the machine Load correct program and adjust machine settings to produce parts to spec while ensuring the machine is running at peak efficiency Trouble shoot the molding operation throughout the production run Run production as needed Work with operators, supervisory personnel, Engineering and Quality as needed to produce any needed components Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives Requirements Requirements Pursing studies in Process Engineering, Technical or trade school studying plastics/injection molding Desire to work with injection molding a plus Must be able to sit/stand for up to 8 to 10 hours per day Must be able to occasionally lift up-to 70 pounds Must be able to look at small parts for extended periods of time Will require flexibility regarding shifts.
