We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Process Engineering to lead and expand our team in supporting cutting-edge projects within the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors. This senior role will provide leadership in both technical expertise and project execution, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of complex process engineering tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• P.Eng in good standing
• Experience:
• 10-15 years of progressive experience in Process Engineering, with a focus on oil & gas production facilities, renewable energy processes, compression facilities, gathering systems, pipeline facilities, fractionation plants, turbo-expander cryogenic plants, dehydration units, and loading terminals.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams and projects, with a strong track record in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS, Symmetry, or equivalent).
• Deep understanding of relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong debottlenecking and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Leadership & Communication:
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with engineers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders
  This is a hybrid position based in our Calgary offices at Lauren Services, where you will lead teams and projects while actively contributing to the growth of the team. You will be hands-on in managing both team dynamics and project deliverables, ensuring successful outcomes and fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Leadership & Team Management:
• Lead the Process Engineering team in the design, analysis, and optimization of process systems for a wide range of industrial applications, including oil and gas, renewable energy, and more.
• Mentor and provide technical support to engineers, fostering their professional development in engineering principles and practices.
• Manage project workloads, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring the team is meeting project objectives and client expectations.
• Process Engineering Design:
• Oversee the development of detailed process design documents, including Block Flow Diagrams (BFD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Heat & Material Balances (HMB), and other critical engineering documentation.
• Provide technical leadership for Conceptual Studies, pre-FEED, and FEED stages (FEL1, FEL2, and FEL3).
• Perform or supervise debottlenecking, troubleshooting, and optimization of process systems.
• Project Execution:
• Coordinate and work with cross-disciplinary project teams to ensure efficient and timely completion of process engineering deliverables.
• Be the Engineer of Record (EOR) for specific projects when required.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., ABSA, ANSI, API).
• Lead or participate in risk assessments, such as PHAs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, and LOPA studies.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication:
• Communicate effectively with internal team members, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
• Provide regular updates on project status, technical challenges, and solutions.
• Process Simulation & Analysis:
• Use process simulation software (such as HYSYS, Symmetry, or equivalent) to model and optimize process systems.
• Apply industry best practices and technical expertise to troubleshoot and optimize processes for maximum efficiency and safety.
