ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking applications for a Process Engineer to join the team at our our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture. Our Coppabella Moorvale joint Venture complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.
Reporting to the CHPP Manager, the purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient operations of all plant and optimum product recovery to meet targets.

Duties will include:

  • Deliver technical support and advices to stakeholders to ensure a successful ramp up and ongoing operations of the processing plants
  • Assist in the development of training packages, priority operating systems and procedures.
  • Assisting plant operator crews and technical team/s i.e. Lab services.
  • Ensure lab technicians and personnel support ramp up activities and maintain safe practices in operation.
  • Assist in contract supervision
  • Cultivate and target culture in values through your team to embed an inclusive and high performing team.
  • Monitor and report on the process plants performance.
  • Take corrective actions as required to meet or beat established safety and production targets.
  • Provide support for accurate budgets.
  • Evaluate operational risks and opportunities and ensure implementation of mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and implement Continual Improvement Initiatives.

To be successful in this role, it is imperative for you to have extensive operational experience, be technically minded and have a passion for emerging technologies. Ideally you will possess the following:

  • Engineering degree ideally in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or related discipline
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in mineral comminution, beneficiation and solid/liquid separation technologies
  • CHPP operational and technical experience
  • Able to demonstrate a reasonable competence and understanding of:
  • Production and maintenance management
  • Control systems engineering
  • Uncompromising commitment to safet
