Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsible for organizing, guiding, and controlling continuous improvement activities in production processes based on the WMS system. This includes identifying losses and waste, defining projects to address the major losses, applying appropriate tools to reduce or eliminate losses, and verifying the results achieved with the projects. Also responsible for maximizing machine and labor utilization, balancing production lines, and conducting productivity improvement work and loss/waste reduction efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree an engineering discipline or Manufacturing Technology Degree required. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Familiarity with Lean Principles, 5S, Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping, and Six Sigma required
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in production shopfloor or production support areas required.
  • Familiarity with lean and six sigma tools strongly desired
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and ERP systems required;
  • SAP Experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills required.
  • Strong working knowledge of office tools including; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required;
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks helpful.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities desired.
  • Must be eager to learn new technologies and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Disseminate the project culture according to the concept of lean manufacturing and world-class manufacturing, spreading the lessons learned throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and guide studies to identify losses and waste in industrial processes.
  • Guide the formation of improvement project teams and the use of correct tools to reduce or eliminate losses and waste.
  • Guide in the development of technical and operational specifications (internal standards) for manufacturing processes, based on production flows/methods.
  • Coordinate the development of action plans for conducting studies aimed at optimizing available resources, such as: machinery, tools, materials, and labor.
  • Coordinate and guide studies for the implementation or improvement of industrial processes, line balancing, MTM application, and workstation balancing.
  • Detect production deficiencies and bottlenecks in production and develop action plans to address the deficiencies.
  • Develop action plans for conducting studies, aiming at optimizing available resources such as machinery, tools, materials, and labor.
  • Coordinate and supervise technical support to analysts, technicians, and process time analysts.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new products within the production process, assessing deadlines and monitoring the results obtained.
  • Determine action plans by activity, for guidance and monitoring of the work team.
  • Define and monitor project performance indicators, verifying planned and achieved results.
  • Prepare expense budgets, investments, staffing charts, and annual activity schedules for the section.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct annual evaluations of employees.
  • Participate in planning, coordinating, controlling, and executing participatory programs adopted by the company, pursuing the objectives defined in the respective programs and/or by the immediate superior.
  • Participate in purchasing decisions for components and raw materials used in equipment manufacturing (machines, tools, and devices).
  • Manages multiple, parallel projects using proven project management techniques.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and excellence
