Position 1: Process Improvement Engineer/Specialist—Level 5
Overall Assignment Description: Provides solution recommendations and provides Knowledge Management (KM) expertise to improve IA’s business processes.

Duties include:

  • (U) Leverages understanding of IA’s mission and customers to design and implement business process modernization and improvements.
  • (U) Briefs IA’s KM tools and processes to other NGA elements for possible efficiencies in workload.
  • (U) Coordinates and leads requirements gathering, user engagement, and delivery of IA’s KM needs.
  • (U) Conducts business process reviews, software testing, IA workforce training, and website content management.
  • (U) Works with IA leadership to develop communication plans for transitioning new KM tools and/or enhancements.
  • (U) Works with desk officers to improve design of user interface features.
  • (U) Maintains awareness of other NGA KM tools and how they might be incorporated into IA’s business processes.

Skills and Experience:

Required

  • (U) Demonstrated experience applying knowledge management, business intelligence, process improvement, reengineering methodologies or best practice principles to design and implement process modernization and improvements.
  • (U) Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading activities of engineers/specialists related to technology needs.
  • (U) Demonstrated experience designing and developing user interface features such as site animation, special effects elements, and maintain associated systems for agency internal and/or external web sites, including sites hosted on classified networks.
  • (U) Demonstrated experience in using web-based technologies such as browsers, Coldfusion, ASP pages, HTML code, object-oriented technology, graphics software, and content management systems.

Desired Skills:

  • (U) Demonstrated experience with Imagery Disclosure Tool (IDT), Request Action Tracker (RAT), or SharePoint custom workflows.
  • (U) Demonstrated experience in understanding of technology requirements specific to international affairs and IC coordination.
