Description

We are seeking a Process Improvement Technician to work in partnership with the on-site EMEA Operations and the Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits (LBDS) team to deliver key initiatives to improve business performance. As part of the LBDS team, you will play an important role in ensuring the quality of our products and maintaining our reputation for excellence. You will help ensure that improvements implemented are standardized and sustained through great relations with Team Leaders across both site and the wider business. You will engage with the daily operational teams and provide laboratory analysis to advance performance improvement opportunities. You will also support multidisciplinary teams through troubleshooting and promoting Lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting non-routine analysis of in-process materials, raw materials and finished products.
  • Interpreting, analyzing, and communicating results to relevant departments.
  • Generating, maintaining and updating existing standard operating procedures and test methods.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all testing performed.
  • Facilitating plant and process problem solving.
  • Being a functional partner to the shift managers in application of the appropriate tools and methodologies (e.g. Loss & Waste analysis, RCPS, DMAIC).
  • Maintaining and promoting the highest standards of Health & Safety.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of data analysis software
  • Degree in Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in QA or laboratory environment
  • Experience in food or beverage production environment

An asset

  • Experience with statistical analysis and quality control charting
  • Have the skills to utilize manufacturing excellence tools and techniques (e.g. 5S, set up time reduction, Lean six sigma, Autonomous and Reliability centered Maintenance)
