PROCESS/INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER – AEROSPACE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT

Location: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, AZ
Clearance Required: Active Secret
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site | Contract

OVERVIEW:

Strategic Technology Institute, Inc. (STi) is seeking a qualified Process/Industrial Engineer to support the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. This role directly supports the U.S. Air Force’s mission to provide cost-effective aerospace storage, regeneration, reclamation, and disposal services.
You will work alongside government engineers to provide technical insight into the design, analysis, improvement, and documentation of AMARG’s “production machine” — optimizing facilities, equipment, materials flow, and workspace layouts to achieve maximum efficiency in aircraft and component regeneration operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an engineering role focused on process analysis, improvement, or industrial systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and document complex technical workflows or procedures.
  • Familiarity with Air Force maintenance regulations and process control guidance (preferred but not required).
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance (required at time of hire).
Responsibilities
  • Advise AMARG leadership on process improvement strategies and industrial workflow design to enhance speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze current industrial processes and develop formal process orders in accordance with AFSCMAN 21-102 standards.
  • Conduct detailed research and data analysis to identify process bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
  • Design and optimize layouts for workspaces, materials handling, and equipment positioning.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT) to government personnel, supporting workforce development and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate closely with government engineering supervisors and attend daily project briefings to review task status and receive new assignments.
