Based at our Chilliwack plant location, the Production Operator is responsible for maintaining the good working conditions of equipment and quality of finished product. This includes handling and processing raw materials or finished goods and packaged products, utilizing various plant equipment or machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner to minimize all downtime, and ensuring the company operational objectives and standards are met.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent level of education preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing industry or similar environment an asset
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with 2 years of leadership experience in a similar environment or industry a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of how to safely operate and maintain processing equipment
  • Forklift and Skid Steer Certifications prior to employment commencement are an asset, or ability to obtain Forklift and Skid Steer Certifications within first 3 months of employment is required
  • Good knowledge of basic mathematical concepts
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
  • Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
  • Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather and odours

Responsibilities
  • Execute the production processes from raw material inputs to finished goods production
  • Safely operate multi-functioning process equipment through control panels and other control systems to blend, dry, and grind raw material
  • Manage and monitor raw materials and finished product to ensure that they meet company requirements and specifications
  • Maintain and monitor levels of raw material inventory at the plant
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the processing area
  • Identify and report issues or concerns related to equipment to the Manager or his/her designee in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, if applicable
  • Maintain all necessary production logs, inventory flush sheets, moisture metrics, formulation calculations and tracking or any other reporting requirements
  • Maintain equipment according to Preventative Maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maintenance costs
  • Operate forklifts, skid steers and other hoisting devices as necessary
  • Monitor plant systems and ensure Critical Control Points (CCP) standards are met
  • Perform work according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the production process
  • Actively participate in providing feedback, input or suggestions to the Manager or his/her designee
  • Adhere to safety protocols and other procedures as dictated by West Coast Reduction Ltd. (“WCRL”) or Redux Nutrition Ltd. (“RNL”)
  • Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
  • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all RNL and WCRL policies
