Description

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

(a) Teach and transfer skills to team leaders and team members.
(b) Able to influence, coach and work effectively at all levels in the organization.
(c) Identify and drive initiatives to improve process control, quality, productivity and cost, as well as support R&D and Product Development.
(d) Investigate and test new technology in regards to the machines, materials and processes and make technical decisions, which may affect the status of development projects.
(e) Provide process optimization and system solutions for products and be able to identify its capabilities and limitations through test, and analyses supported by measurement and documentation.
(f) Conduct or supervise testing, which includes: developing and/or executing test plans, analyses of test results, formal documentation and presentations.
(g) Develop processing guidelines for new and/or existing systems.
(h) Liaise with other business units and customer for sharing process and development knowledge.
(i) Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems.
(j) Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems.
(k) Design machines, components, tools, fixtures and equipment.
(l) Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures.
(m) Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to industrial maintenance department.
(n) Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

(a) Must have a university degree in Process or Mechanical Engineering.
(b) Six sigma and SPC will be an asset.
(c) A change agent and problem solver with knowledge of Kaizen or Lean manufacturing techniques and 5 + years of work experience.
(d) A hands-on individual with a proven track record of project success.
(e) Strong project management, quantitative and analytical skills.
(f) Strong communication and facilitation skills.
(g) Ability to identify the root cause of operational problems.
(h) Experience with the development, purpose and implementation of permanent corrective action.
(i) Ability to introduce automation and process control.
(j) Increase equipment efficiency.
(k) Increase productivity.
(l) Ability to establish statistical analysis.
