About the Position: We are looking for an Injection Molding Process Technician to support day-to-day production in a plastics manufacturing environment. This position is designed for someone early in their career who wants to learn injection molding and grow into a stronger technical role over time. The best candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, a practical problem-solving mindset, and the ability to learn by working directly with machines, molds, materials, and production teams. Prior injection molding experience is helpful, but it is not required. We will train the selected candidate and provide the coaching, structure, and hands-on support needed to help them become successful in the role Help monitor running injection molding machines. Watch for machine alarms, process changes, part defects, and production interruptions. Assist with keeping jobs running safely, efficiently, and within quality expectations. Learn how machine settings, cycle time, cooling, material flow, and part handling affect production. Report issues quickly when something does not look or sound right. Support startups, restarts, and basic production checks under direction. Inspect parts for obvious visual defects. Learn to recognize common molding issues such as short shots, flash, burns, splay, sink marks, warpage, color issues, and sticking parts. Follow work instructions, quality standards, sample parts, and inspection requirements. Assist with sorting, containment, and separating good parts from suspect parts when needed. Communicate quality concerns to technicians, supervisors, or quality personnel. Required Qualifications 0–2 years of manufacturing, mechanical, machine operation, maintenance, technical, or related experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how equipment works. Good problem-solving ability. Willingness to learn injection molding from the ground up. Ability to follow safety rules, work instructions, and quality standards. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Clear communication skills. Basic computer skills or ability to learn production systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Monitor injection molding machines to ensure safe and efficient production while identifying part defects and process interruptions. Assist with startups, restarts, and quality inspections to maintain production standards.
