BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma, GED, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years processing, sampling, set-up, and/or equivalent experience.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as scales, calipers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with little direction or supervision.
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two year degree and/or certificate in manufacturing technology, plastic injection molding, and/or related field.
  • Previous decoupled/scientific molding experience.
  • RJG or Paulson certification is a plus.
  • IQMS software experience.
  • Previous robotics and/or automation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Process Technician position is responsible for establishing the operating parameters for injection molding machines to ensure that the parts produced meet customer and company quality standards. This position sets up molds, troubleshoots issues, corrects process problems at the press, inspects samples for quality, and removes molds. The Process Technician reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Set-up machine operating parameters to process parts to specifications using established procedures.
  • Inspect sample parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Record process specifications onto process sheets.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems at the press. Optimize cycle times for injection molding presses.
  • Remove molds from the press.
  • Purge barrel of leftover materials at the conclusion of an order.
  • Participate in and provide ideas for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
