Description The Process Technician / Mold Setter works in a team environment to set and process injection molds in molding machines according to scheduling priorities. This role is a vital component in the company’s goals of scrap reduction, on-time deliveries, high quality products and machine efficiencies. This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The position is full-time and eligible for benefits after 60 days. Overtime as scheduled. RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets molds in to injection molding presses. Follows process setup sheets and instructions. Troubleshoots nonconforming parts by identifying the quality defects and initiates the appropriate processes to resolve them. Cleans mold surfaces. Assesses mold conditions and reports the findings to supervision and tool room. Changes material when applicable. Assists in new part setup and process development. Assists with the training of department personnel on molding requirements. Exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Follows all company policies and procedures. Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Highly motivated individual who is able to work independently or in a team. Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of injection molding principals, concepts, practices and theories. Has a working knowledge of injection molding equipment and processes. Has good communications skills, is team oriented and a self-starter. Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production mold processing experience. Two to four years manufacturing experience required. Two years of injection molding experience preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Has the ability to read, comprehend and write the English language as it relates to safety, job responsibilities and other essential communication. Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. REASONING ABILITY: Possesses strong reasoning skills, including the ability to analyze problems and identify, implement and rationalize solutions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, push and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds consistently, with heavier weight necessary at times. Must be able to walk, stand, bend and twist for extended periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works within a fast-paced manufacturing environment that is not temperature regulated. The environment may be loud requiring hearing protection in some areas. Personal protective equipment is required as defined with in the hazard analysis sheet defined for this position.
