Description:
NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a 2- or 3-year college program in a related field, or, in lieu of formal education minimum, 7 years of directly related work experience troubleshooting or hands on (Mechanical or Electrical) experience in automation industry.
- Ability up to 12 hours of work in a limited, noisy, dry space
- Ability to lift up or manually moving materials over 50lbs
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in electricity/electronics/mechanics, etc.
- 3+ Experience with operators and technicians in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Experience with trouble shooting or hands on experience with machines
- Some experience with PLCs

Responsibilities:
- Advanced machine troubleshooting. Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving activities when equipment breaks down and target performance has not been achieved.
- Collects and analyzes data, inspects products and processes, conducts tests, assists with research and development, and records results
- Lead line change-overs, verify proper function and quality is met before releasing the line for full production.
- Process and installation Parameter checks based on line standards.
- Initiates and fosters cooperation and communication within and between departments and shifts.
- Diagnose machine/process issues and make machine adjustments.
- Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level at all times.
- Navigate computer and machine programs. Run queries to troubleshoot issues and keep machines running properly.
- Assist the engineer during tests or machine inspections to corrective action of production problems.
- Maintain 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards.
- Prepare and participate daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams.
- Ensure you and your team adhere to all safety rules, wear all PPE and additional items as required at all times including required surgical mask and latex / nitrile gloves
- Work at a pace that meets demand of the lines
- Additional duties as assigned
