JOB SUMMARY:

The Process Technician will be expected to maintain a functional, efficient, and clean laboratory environment following all safety, quality and production guidelines and practices. Daily expectations are to aid in process improvement project and execute testing plans which include but are not limited to: sample collection, sample preparation, ensuring quality test data, running samples using lab equipment, troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment, bench testing, testing design and analysis, and data entry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum diploma in Engineering Technology or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have ability to interact with others and work as a team player and well as working independently.
  • Multi-tasking and accurate labeling practices are required.
  • Experience in mining environment preferred.
  • Methodical work ethic and proficiency in procedural work.
  • Strong desire to be part of a start-up/growth organization with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast paced, results oriented, and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows all safety and health requirements in the laboratory at all times.
  • Collecting, gathering, and splitting of representative samples for in depth testing and study
  • XRF analysis
  • Bench testing equipment execution (including but not limited to: mag separation, shaker table, ro-tap, grinding mill, crushing)
  • Conducts chemical and/or other analyses for samples using lab equipment and following specific lab procedures (i.e. fluxers, LOI).
  • Inputting, organizing, and maintaining testing data.
  • Proper documentation of testing procedures and aid in report writing.
  • Maintains cleanliness and appearance in and around the laboratory.
  • Aid in troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment, including but not limited to calibration schedules, software interface, mechanical, and electrical support.
  • Keeps current with relevant developments in quality testing, sampling procedures, and analysis.
  • Continue to create a safety culture and manage policies that meet company expectations.
  • Self-starter yet take orders as directed. Will work closely with process engineers
  • Other duties as assigned.
