Reports To: Maintenance Manager/Assistant Maintenance Manager/ Maintenance Supervisor Location/Department: Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch/Processing Maintenance/ Various locations Position Hours: Full Time, Various hours Purpose: The Maintenance I is the entry-level class in the Maintenance Processing series. Initially, under close supervision, incumbents perform routine duties while learning processing policies and procedures and become familiar with the variety of processing systems and practices. As experience is gained, duties become more diversified and are performed under more general supervision. Essential Job Duties: Performs a variety of duties involving the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and servicing of all processing equipment under direct supervision. Perform machine preventive maintenance functions (oiling, greasing, inspection, etc.) Perform minor machine diagnostics / performance tuning with direct supervision. Complete and document with accuracy, all required forms. Maintains continuity between Maintenance, Processing, Safety and Quality teams by documenting and/or communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs as they arise. Complete training in a timely manner as they are assigned in LMS. Comply with the strictest standards for Food Safety and animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of standards to management. Any other duties assigned by management. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver’s license Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, a level, and straightedges. Ability to maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Proven mechanical / electrical aptitude as tested with Herbruck’s approved test. Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Able to work around moving machinery comfortably and safely. Working in a farm environment with various conditions. Does not own or maintain routine contact with birds, pigs, sheep, goats, cattle, and unprocessed eggs. Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts. Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays when needed. (Being on Call) Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors. Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25 lbs. continuously throughout the day Safety: Follow all company policies and procedures. Proper use of PPE as required. LOTO authorized as assigned.
