SUMMARY

This individual is responsible for planning and coordinating the Packaging activities on a shift in coordination with Shift Manager direction to maximize operational efficiencies and to ensure the safety of all employees. This job coordinates the activities in the packaging area on shift to produce finished products at target specifications in a food safe environment. They will advise the Shift Manager of current conditions and support the Shift Managers accountability in their areas.

TYPICAL EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) form a 4 year college or university

Responsibilities
  • Plans and coordinates the packaging activities with Shift Management and other support personnel.
  • Supervises the packaging area employees by directing the activities of the team to provide the best support during each shift.
  • Is responsible for supporting, managing, or implementing People Safety, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Product Quality standards.
  • Assists in the training of employees in the packaging area in the proper methods of equipment operation, record keeping, interdepartmental communication and all other necessary operational procedures.
  • Ensures that the area is operating as efficient as possible at all times in conjunction with changes in the process throughout each shift. This includes the development and implementation of process/productivity improvements and managing all tote/rework activities to minimize the overall impact to plant operations.
  • Leads, attends, and participates in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge.
