Description
SUMMARY This position will be responsible for the processing of biological materials into final products. This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, standard documentation practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other Regulatory Guidance’s as applicable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Maintain safety and integrity of product and samples during processing, storage and shipment release in accordance with SOPS. · Perform plasma, blood and sample processing according to SOP, customer specifications, State and Federal regulations and Company policies. · Performance of sample and unit centrifugation · Labeling control and documentation of product according to donor programs. · Provide support for QC release of all products. · Perform quality control on various laboratory equipment. · Manage product packing, and inventory within freezers and refrigerators. · Disposition of unsuitable product with concurrent documentation · Prepare product shipment and verification. · Receive, inventory, and maintain storage area for incoming supplies. · This position is not limited to these duties and may be asked to do additional tasks · Performing daily, weekly, monthly and annual QC on all equipment as required by laboratory SOPs. · Handling inventory and preparing products and affiliated documentation for shipment to client. · Assisting in the development and validation of procedures and techniques. Lab / Lab Support - While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. The employee has potential for exposure to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals, biohazards, flammable liquids, risk of radiation. The employee is occasionally required to use equipment with moving mechanical parts, with risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, at times, the noise level can be louder and hearing protection may be required. The employee may work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
