Responsibilities

FIND PURPOSE AND IMPACT

As our new Procurement and Contracts Officer you’ll make an impact by directly supporting projects and services that make a real difference in our community. Your work will help ensure that resources are sourced responsibly and contracts are managed effectively contributing to outcomes that benefit the people of Dubbo every day. Be part of a small close-knit team who strive to achieve the best outcomes for all the many business units across Council.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Managing procurement activities in line with policies and regulations to ensure the best value for money.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and administering contracts with suppliers and service providers to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to build strong working relationships and assist with their procurement needs.
  • Monitoring contract performance and ensure compliance.Supporting continuous improvement in procurement practices.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV in Procurement and Contracting, Accounting, Economic, Business or related discipline or commensurate experience in a similar role will be considered.
  • A level of demonstrated experience in procurement or contract practices within a multi-disciplined organisation, including purchasing practices, tendering and contract management.
  • Demonstrated administration experience in developing and implementing innovative best practice strategies and solutions in a local government or similar diverse organisational environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly developed time management, research, analytical and problem solving skills
