Our client, Southern Communications Group, is a dynamic and fast-paced telecommunications business providing services such as Managed IT, Cyber Security, Unified Communications, Networks, Business Mobile, Private Cloud and more. Each customer is at the heart of their business where they strive to design, deliver and support the very best solutions to underpin clients’ business and daily operations, all supported by SCG’s in-house industry leading technical specialists.
Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for a driven and self-motivated Procurement Assistant to join their Head Office based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. You will join the newly formed procurement team consisting of the Procurement Director and the Chief Commercial Officer to deliver and document a complete suite of regulatory compliant and commercially advantageous agreements with all suppliers.

Procurement Assistant, role:

• Making sure that each supplier has been through and completed supplier on-boarding process
• Maintaining documents’ store with up-to-date supplier agreement and SCG’s ISO and framework accreditations (including any amendments and addendums)
• Working closely with both Procurement Director and Chief Commercial Officer to manage supplier agreement records
• Collecting and presenting any supplier variations – annual price increases, comparison of supplier rates, suppliers’ commitments and requests
• Communicating with Group companies to understand their suppliers’ agreements, minimize costs and maximize savings
• Assisting in in new software package implementations – data input and data transfer
• Understanding analysis reports and analysis of differences between supplier agreements

Procurement Assistant, the person:

• Previous experience within a similar role and technology background would be beneficial
• Positive can-do and proven problem-solving attitude
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Genuine interest in Technology & Innovation
• IT Literate, to include good spreadsheet understanding
