Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for a Procurement Business Analyst in Melbourne to work on CASG projects. What You’ll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: Lead business requirements analysis to support ongoing upgrades and enhancements to the Defence ERP system within the commercial and procure-to-pay domain. Design and implement Defence-compliant procurement processes, mapping workflows and driving system, policy, and organisational change. Engage directly with Defence stakeholders to ensure ERP procurement practices align with Commonwealth and Defence procurement frameworks. Provide independent commercial and procurement advice in relation to the Defence ERP system, supporting informed decision-making. Produce and assure Defence-ready documentation, ensuring ERP artefacts meet governance, compliance, and best-practice standards. What You’ll Bring Proven experience in commercial or procurement roles, ideally within Defence or complex public sector environments. Strong working knowledge of Commonwealth procurement across the end-to-end procure-to-pay value chain. Experience supporting complex Defence procurement activities, operating within governed, policy-driven environments. Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders across large, multi-layered organisations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multi-disciplinary teams. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Baseline/ Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement. Responsibilities
