An opportunity currently exists for a Procurement Category Manager on a full-time permanent basis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement strategic sourcing activities to deliver the best value for money outcome for the organisation.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to ensure best commercial offer balanced with excellent quality and customer service
  • Ensure procurement of materials is managed through highest service level, lowest cost with innovation and efficiency.
  • Collaboration with key supply partners to ensure delivery of continuous improvement and innovation to drive better service, quality and cost.
  • Review and report on material costs and participate in cost reviews as required.
  • Monitor and report on supplier activities
  • Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to reduce and mitigate risks (financial, supply, service) to the organisation.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in either Procurement, Supply Chain & Logistics, Project Management, Business or CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualified
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Experience in end-to-end procurement of packaging materials and commodities.
  • Experience managing commodities i.e. sugar, cocoa, vegetable oils, dairy, plastics, paper products
  • Experience in contract and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience working in complex multi-site operations.
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 36
  • Strong leadership and project management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent inter-personal and relationship building
