Responsibilities

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Procurement Consultant is a Hamburg based team addition which will be focusing on all partners / suppliers and provisional ports calls on the American continents and Europe. This role is an autonomous team addition within procurement which needs a good understanding of market, networking and supply chain and wants to be involved in the operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES

  • Creation of POs from REQ created by our vessels
  • Understand trends and tendency in the given region
  • Enjoying working with IT-programs which are also maintained by the Procurement Manager (shore side)
  • The ability and drive for achieving and surpassing targets against an internal- or external-standard of excellence. This is about showing a passion for improving the delivery of services with a commitment to continuous improvement in your procurement process
  • The ability to think carefully about the likely effects on others of your words, actions, appearance, and mode of behavior
  • The ability to apply and improve extensive or in-depth specialized knowledge, skills, and judgement by assessing and translating

information technology into responsive and effective procurement solutions

  • Arranging or categorizing spends according to relevant goods and/or services and keeping in mind quality, service, risk, and cost
  • Driving the procurement process by designing, implementing, and managing projects to a successful conclusion with the relevant project owners. Support the project owners with establishing accountability, establishing timelines, and establishing goals are paramount
  • Be a “voice of reasons” in regards of realizations and implementations
  • To have the ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key stakeholders: internal and external
  • Balance the shoreside and shipside perspective to ensure the best outcome for our guests with the most economical approach
  • The ability to persuade, influence and explore positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that will gain acceptance of all stakeholders and will also meets HX organizational strategic procurement objectives
  • The ability to apply a broad understanding of financial management principals and other quantitative information to ensure decisions are fiscally responsible and for the best interest of all stakeholders
  • Balance the fiscally and creative impacts and inform related colleagues on what decision would cause what consequences
  • To be able to visualize, articulate and solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and support decisions that are in the best interest for HX based on all available data/information
