We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Procurement Director to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office currently located at 224 Airport Parkway San Jose, CA 95110 and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Procurement Director to manage a newly formed procurement function. This role’s main function will include strategic supplier sourcing, negotiating favorable payment terms, and delivering targeted cost reductions across Greenwaste.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Programs, and General Computer Operation.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or a related field5+ years experience in strategic sourcing/procurement experience and contract negotiation

  • Proficient in English (both verbally and in writing) is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven track record in delivery of complex, cross-functional sourcing and procurement initiatives on time and on budget.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and utilize time management skills.
  • Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure proper implementation of procedures.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information quickly.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate information and various services.
  • Understanding of change management, and risk management concepts.
  • Must have excellent people skills and work well with key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to research, handle and resolve complex assignments with good judgment, initiative and efficiency
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the organizational procurement strategy, standardization and optimization of companywide spending.
  • Develop and implement the organization’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Focus on developing strategic suppliers and ensure ongoing cost reductions.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop and plan for potential operational changes.
  • Monitor and measure sourcing and procurement organization effectiveness against established performance metrics.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to meet new suppliers and stay up to date with industry developments.
  • Review, execute and manage supplier contracts and agreements that align with the company’s budget and quality standards.
  • Review and monitor defective or low-quality services with suppliers/vendors and find corrective actions and make recommendations for changes where necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
