Job Description

Desert Man Transporting and Contracting is looking for a Procurement Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, sourcing materials and equipment, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that all purchased items meet the required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the procurement of materials, equipment, spare parts, tools, and other project requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, review quotations, and conduct technical and commercial comparisons.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding prices, specifications, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and material requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase orders and follow up on orders until delivery.
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure timely procurement.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and product quality.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, project requirements, and applicable UAE standards.
  • Source alternative materials and suppliers when required to maintain cost efficiency and project schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and avoiding delays due to material shortages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within construction, contracting
