JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tender Engineer to lead and manage the tendering process for a range of engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background combined with expertise in bid preparation, contract negotiation, and the overall tender process. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure timely and competitive bids, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tendering and estimating for engineering projects, with a solid understanding of the tender process.
  • Experience in managing and leading tender teams across various disciplines.
  • Excellent technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to assess project risks and opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, contract law, and procurement methods.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and tendering/estimating software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and technical requirements.
  • Develop and manage the pricing and cost estimation process, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Coordinate with various internal departments (design, procurement, legal, etc.) to compile and validate all technical and commercial tender components.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with tender proposals, advising on mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all tenders are compliant with client requirements, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to clarify technical aspects and manage expectations.
  • Review and negotiate contract terms, including scope, cost, schedule, and risk allocation.
  • Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of tender submissions, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities and assisting with proposal presentations.
