YOUR ROLE
As Lead Procurement Engineer you will
Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Finance teams to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Support procurement planning across multiple business units, including Oil & Gas, Power, Marine, Civil, and Plant Projects.
Procurement Process Management
- Lead the end-to-end procurement cycle from requisition to delivery.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve procurement processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Identify, prequalify, evaluate, and manage suppliers and subcontractors.
- Build strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and competitiveness.
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery commitments.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where required.
- Provide regular progress reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Contract Management
- Lead the preparation, negotiation, award, and administration of procurement contracts.
- Monitor supplier and contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
- Resolve contractual and commercial issues proactively to minimize project risks.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Collaborate with Finance and Project Teams to establish procurement budgets.
- Implement cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives without compromising project quality or delivery.
- Monitor procurement expenditures and manage budget variations effectively.
Risk Management
- Identify procurement-related risks including supply chain disruptions, delays, cost escalations, and quality concerns.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to support uninterrupted project execution.
Inventory & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure the availability of materials and equipment in accordance with project schedules.
- Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery activities to project sites.
- Support effective inventory management and material tracking processes.
MIS Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, contracts, and schedules.
- Prepare and present procurement reports, performance metrics, and status updates to management.
- Ensure timely reporting through ERP and Management Information Systems.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop procurement professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support employee development and professional certification initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the key interface between internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with project teams, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure procurement objectives are achieved.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education / Certifications / Licenses
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, PMP, or equivalent are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of procurement experience, preferably within the Oil & Gas EPC industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale procurement packages for EPC projects.
- Strong background in supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement leadership.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent procurement platforms.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to compliance and ethical business practices.
