Description
  • PURCHASING & SOURCINGHandle day-to-day procurement of marine spares, provisions, lubricants, safety equipment, and technical services.Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure best value in terms of price, quality, and delivery lead time.Prepare and issue Request for Quotation (RFQ) and Purchase Orders (PO) in line with company policies.
  • VENDOR MANAGEMENTDevelop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and service providers.Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, timeliness, and compliance with contracts.Maintain and update vendor database for marine supplies and services.
  • COST CONTROL & NEGOTIATIONNegotiate pricing and contract terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.Monitor procurement budgets and assist in cost analysis and reporting.
  • LOGISTICS & COORDINATIONCoordinate delivery schedules with suppliers to align with vessel operations and port calls.Liaise with port agents, chandlers, and logistics providers to ensure timely deliveries.Resolve delivery discrepancies, damaged goods, or invoice issues.
  • COMPLIANCE & DOCUMENTATIONEnsure procurement activities comply with company policies, maritime regulations, and safety standards (e.g., ISM Code, ISO requirements).Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase logs, and documentation for audits.
  • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTSupport process improvement initiatives in procurement efficiency and vendor performance.Stay updated on marine industry trends, new products, and regulatory requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marine Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in the marine or shipping industry.
  • Familiarity with marine products, spare parts, and service providers is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
