Description
The Opportunity Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Procurement Hub Manager to lead a small procurement team responsible for sourcing materials and services efficiently and strategically. Reporting to the Procurement Director, this full-time role is based the Melbourne office and supports a range of critical projects across water, energy, and industrial networks. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects have robust procurement plans, strong supplier relationships, and compliant sourcing practices that align with Downer’s standards. You’ll work closely with project delivery teams, commercial managers, and internal supply chain peers to optimise spend, manage risks, and drive performance improvements across the business. What You’ll Do * Lead and develop a cohesive procurement hub team, acting as a trusted advisor to project teams. * Prepare procurement plans, manage sourcing and contracting activities, and facilitate supplier negotiations. * Ensure compliance with Downer Standard, P2P processes, DFA, and relevant legislation. * Monitor and manage procurement risks, cost savings opportunities, and performance issues. * Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, resolving conflicts proactively. What We’re Looking For We are seeking a highly capable procurement professional with a mix of technical, commercial, and leadership skills: * Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field. * 5+ years’ experience in procurement, project management, and/or contract management in construction, utilities, oil & gas, or similar industries. * Strong project management, negotiation, and commercial acumen. * Excellent relationship management, influencing, and communication skills. * Resourceful, proactive, and hands-on problem solver with strong leadership capability.
