Description
Vertiv is looking for a Procurement Specialist who can drive cost optimization, supplier performance, and contract governance within a data center and critical infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong sourcing and negotiation skills, experience working with Mechanical & Electrical subcontractors, and the ability to collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and legal teams. This role plays a key part in supporting Vertiv’s operational efficiency, compliance standards, and business growth through effective procurement strategies. Strategic Role Lead cost-saving initiatives including RFQ processes, negotiations, and e-Sourcing activities Source, qualify, and develop new suppliers to support business growth and operational requirements. Accountabilities Compile data and coordinate with internal stakeholders to prepare supplier performance reviews and evaluations. Manage contracts and service agreements with suppliers and service providers. Prepare NDAs and service agreements for suppliers and service providers, and liaise with Legal and relevant stakeholders on the review of terms and conditions. Responsibilities and Duties Monitor and ensure supplier and service provider agreements are valid, up to date, and within contractual periods. Coordinate new vendor setup and ensure compliance with procurement procedures. Conduct sourcing and negotiation activities to achieve cost savings. Assist in RFQs, cost comparisons, and commercial negotiations. Implement and oversee compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Qualification and Experience Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Business Studies, Engineering, or related fields. Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in Purchasing, Engineering, or Supply Chain functions. Required Competencies Human Competencies Strong interpersonal, analytical, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting goals and deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good command of English (spoken and written); knowledge of local dialects is an advantage. Business Competencies Understanding of data center products and experience managing Mechanical & Electrical subcontractors. Strong sourcing and negotiation capabilities within a supply chain environment. Professional/Technical Competencies Knowledge of customs-related matters including facilities, exemptions, and Incoterms. Knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Oracle is an added advantage. Computer literacy. Knowledge of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA). Occupational Health and Safety Ensure OH&S risk assessments are conducted within assigned areas of responsibility. Ensure OH&S-related documentation is properly maintained and updated as required. Support the implementation of the OHS Management Programme to achieve OHS objectives. Ensure all OHS procedures and work instructions are complied with at all times. Ensure proper use and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Cooperate and support the Safety & Health Committee during workplace inspections and OHSMS internal and external audits.
