Job Description
The Procurement Manager is responsible for executing the category and sourcing strategy, cost price reduction, supplier management, and developing a global sourcing network. Key responsibilities include:
- Devise, own, and implement the category & sourcing strategy for the respective category, ensuring alignment with overall business priorities.
- Collaborate closely with brand, product, and replenishment & inventory teams to plan and implement procurement activities effectively.
- Conduct global supplier sourcing, manage supplier selection processes, and lead negotiations on purchasing conditions, prices, and continuous improvement plans.
- Analyse global category & sourcing market environments and product cost developments to ensure data-driven procurement activities and negotiations.
- Execute the sourcing and tendering process, including requests for information and quotation, in consideration of the defined category & sourcing strategy.
- Ensure security of supply by monitoring suppliers’ capacities, overseeing quality standards, and maintaining adherence to timelines.
- Conduct supplier evaluations, initiate development initiatives, and manage supplier performance, including negotiating commercial penalties where relevant.
- Prepare management reports on supplier performance indicators, market analyses, and cost developments, whilst maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Business studies degree or comparable professional training with 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, buying, and procurement, preferably in e-commerce/retail/consumer goods sector
- Proven experience in strategic purchasing activities, including tendering, negotiation, and strategy development
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and business fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Supply market knowledge and supplier development capabilities
- Willingness to travel internationally
