The Procurement team is pivotal to both the Sales and Service Delivery areas of Amber and is responsible for negotiating and securing energy contracts ranging from energy spends of around £100,000 up to multi-million pound contracts. We focus on tailoring bespoke procurement solutions for our clients and partnering them with the right supplier, ensuring exceptional service.
The Procurement Manager is a pivotal role within the team, driving procurement performance, process improvements, efficiency and leading the way in setting the standard for best practice. You will lead a team of analysts, coaching and mentoring them to develop their industry knowledge and skills, while supporting them in achieving their own goals and vision of success.
You will work closely with senior leaders to ensure the team delivers accurate, timely and value focused energy procurement proposals, providing the best outcome for our customers and supporting our revenue and cash conversion.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Procurement strategies for clients in partnership with the Trading and Sales teams, presenting proposals that deliver expert advice, recommendations and ensure timely contract signature.
  • Supporting the Procurement analysts in developing high-quality strategies for their clients.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate management of the procurement process to support conversion of revenue to cash.
  • Support the technical and personal development of the team using a coaching approach and empowering the analysts to become self-sufficient in both delivery and development.
  • Mentoring and coaching the team both technically and behaviourally to create well-rounded team members able to progress in the next step of their career.
  • Develop and maintain regular KPI reporting suites.
  • Building cross-team relationships, whilst having a positive impact and influence on direct reports, team colleagues and the wider business.
  • Work with the Head of Procurement Operations to:
  • Effectively manage key supplier relationships;
  • Develop new and sustainable Procurement products that benefit our clients;
  • Drive efficiency through developing system and process improvements.
