ABOUT YOU

You will have significant procurement experience and will thrive in forming strategic relationships with senior management teams. You will drive delivery of a range of procurement projects along with heads of service, commissioning managers and contract managers. You will be involved in developing strategy and policies, and supporting directorates to ensure these policies are implemented.
You will be a proactive manager with a collaborative work style, you will lead by example, demonstrating a people-focussed, risk-based approach to procurement in support of council strategic objectives.
It would be advantageous for you to have experience of working in an IT procurement context and in procurements relating to Works, plus use of NEC Contracts.

You will lead procurement activity, working with teams across the Council to develop their procurement requirements. ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Procurement Manager, you will be a key member of the Strategic Procurement Team within the Resources Directorate, responsible for advising and supporting senior management and officers on all aspects of procurement and commissioning activity within the Council Directorates.
The role plays a key part in developing and implementing our Procurement Strategy, ensuring that procurement activity contributes to delivery of the Council’s Corporate Strategy.
