Hours: 37 hours however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours. Agile working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in managing and leading a team to meet organisational goals.
Knowledge of UK and international procurement legislation.
Experience in developing procurement strategies, policies, and procedures.
Strong communication skills (oral and written) at all levels.
CIPS Level 5 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Corporate Procurement department. This is a vital role where your work has a direct impact on our ability to serve the public. While procurement may happen behind the scenes, it ensures our firefighters and employees have the equipment, services, and resources they need, when they need them. The successful candidate will work closely with all Heads of Departments and the Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and implement effective procurement strategies and policies. By securing best value for money and ensuring efficient and compliant procurement processes, you’ll be helping us stay operationally ready and financially responsible, supporting our vision to ‘Make Derbyshire Safer Together’.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the preparation and implementation of the Procurement Strategy.
Provide assurance on the provision of an efficient and effective strategic procurement service.
Ensure compliance with UK procurement regulations and internal policies.
Manage the Procurement function, including staff management and development.
Advise on the best procurement routes, considering environmental and sustainability factors.
